Granna’s Pepperoni Rolls

Granna is what my mom is hoping Astaire will call her…we are “trying” to get Astaire to go with it.

What I love about her rolls is that the bread is super sweet and delicious.

Check them out working together on this fabulous recipe:

2 cups warm water
2 packs dry yeast
combine until yeast is dissolved

add 1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tables. oil


add 6-7 cups of flour, one cup at a time and knead dough until it forms a soft ball

They used my new kitchen aid mixer, and you should too if you have one!
Place in a large bowl with a little oil in the bottom. Place dough in the oil upside down so the top of the dough gets covered with oil and place right side up in the bowl. Cover and place in and warm place to raise, about 2 hours or until dough doubles in size. Pull off pieces in baseball size and press flat. Place in pepperoni in the center of dough a fold ends of dough over pepperoni and then fold in sides and pinch dough together.   You can use as much pepperoni as you think you would prefer, just remember that the dough gets bigger as it bakes.  Place in greased pan and let raise for 30 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for abou 25 minutes.

    Brenda, do you use a Kitchen Aid mixer when you mix them up at home?
